Sheridan Media reporter Pat Blair looks back in time, over 100 years ago, to the impact of Spanish influenza as reported in the pages of the Sheridan Enterprise in 1918.

No deaths from influenza were reported in Sheridan during the 24 hours up to noon today, Oct. 29. County Health Officer Hurd received reports yesterday showing 25 new cases for that day, and 26 for the day before, for the entire county, a noticeable falling off.

The Red Cross has issued a plea for more women to go out as day nurses in homes where sickness prevails.

Murray Dent Taylor of Sheridan has been reported dead from pneumonia following Spanish influenza at Camp Furlong, Columbus, New Mexico. He died last week, and his body was expected to arrive in Sheridan this afternoon.
