Newly-elected State Representative for District 40 Marilyn Connolly (R-Buffalo) attended the last Buffalo City Council meeting to discuss the upcoming Legislative Session.

Connolly touched on topics including property tax reform, keeping direct distribution to local city and county government, protection for minors and gun- free zones.

She said she has been assigned to the Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Committee, which is the only one she will serve on during this session.

She spoke on some bills she will be watching during the session, including one that has come out of the wolf incident in Daniel last year, a number of new property tax reform bills, and one she is sponsoring that she explained.

She will be co-sponsoring a bill to have age-verification to prevent minors from accessing websites with harmful materials, and a bill concerning gun-free zones, which she believes should be done on a local level.

Councilman Mike Madden made an announcement concerning Connolly serving in the Legislature.

The Wyoming Legislature begins its 40-day 2025 Legislative Session January 14 in Cheyenne.
