Sheridan Downtown Association Board Chair Dylan Crouse, board member Kristen Herbst and Executive Director Zoila Perry made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse and spoke on the Elk Fire Soup Fundraiser.
Perry reported the event raised approximately $7,500 for the Elk Fire relief efforts. The event drew 12 home chefs (some making more than one soup) and three professionals who prepared and submitted soups for Sheridan residents to enjoy and judge.

Chef Justin Demple from PO News won the professional category with his Philly Cheesesteak Soup. The People’s Choice for Professionals went to Verdello with a Creamy Mushroom Soup.
Crouse said it was one home chef who swept through the competition this year winning both the category and People’s Choice with flavor and presentation.

According to Perry, this event went so well, the DSA has explored the idea of making it an annual event with proceeds going to a non-profit foundation or organization every year. Learn more about the DSA by clicking here.
