Hospital Board Downsizing with This Year’s Election

The Hospital Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center has three members whose terms will be up at the end of 2020.

Board members Mark Schueler, Kristy Kinghorn, and Bill Dooley all have terms that expire this year.

CEO Sean McCallister was asked to report to County Clerk Vicki Edelman which, if any board members will be interested in running for a position during this year’s election.

Dooley told McCallister he did not intend to run again for a position, but Schueler did plan to run.

Kinghorn wasn’t sure but was leaning toward running again.

The board voted earlier this year to condense to a five-member board from six, so one position will be eliminated when the new board takes effect in 2021.

Board members whose terms will not be up this year include Tom Holt, Alecia Kozisek, and Tom Berry.
