According to the National Association of Healthcare Quality, Healthcare Quality Week was established by the NAHQ in 1985, to recognize and celebrate the contribution of healthcare quality experts in their various organizations.

For 10 years, Tommi Ritterbusch has been at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. As a registered nurse she worked in the Welch Cancer Center. Her time there taught her the importance of service and quality care to people in the community that she grew up knowing.

Now, Ritterbusch is the Director of Continuous Improvement at SMH. The job keeps Ritterbusch performing a duty that gives back to the community. She and her team closely examine regulation, policies and practices to ensure that the level of care outlined by operating procedures is a top priority.

During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Ritterbusch said this week is a special time to appreciate not only the team at SMH but her team that works to ensure quality care is the goal of everyone.
