The Bureau of Land Management Casper Field Office is seeking public input on the development of a recreation area management plan and the associated environmental assessment for the Rim Rock Property, located on the banks of the North Platte River just west of Casper. The land in question was acquired by the BLM in 2018 through the Land and Water Conservation Fund and was the site of the 1865 Battle of Red Buttes. It has also been earmarked for potential recreational activities.

Those interested in providing feedback are asked to help identify issues that could be useful in developing alternatives for management of the area. Comments must be submitted in writing electronically or by mail. All comments and information submitted may be made publicly accessible at any time. The 14 day scoping period ends on May 10. For information on how to provide comments or on how to find more details regarding the proposal, follow this link https://eplanning.blm.gov/epl-front-office/eplanning/projectSummary.do?methodName=renderDefaultProjectSummary&projectId=1505041.
