Ron RichterU.S. Senate Western Caucus Chair Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) led three of her Senate Western colleagues in introducing the “No American Land for Communist China Act” to prevent the Chinese Communist Party from purchasing land adjacent to federal lands. The legislation will protect Wyoming and other western states from the threat of the CCP buying up lands next to federal lands which could harm critical mineral and energy production taking place on those lands.
Senator Lummis said the people of Wyoming should not have to worry about the CCP buying up western land in order to spy on the federal government or undermine our domestic energy and critical mineral production. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) co-sponsored the bill and said letting the CCP buy up and use our western lands is dangerous, reckless, and a serious threat to our national, economic, and energy security.
This legislation prohibits any agent or business affiliated with the CCP from purchasing land adjacent to federal land in the United States. House Western Caucus Chair Dan Newhouse (R-WA) introduced the companion bill in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Very little to nothing said regarding Joe Bidens’ executive order blocking a Chinese-backed cryptocurrency mining firm from owning land near Warren Air Force base, calling its proximity to the base a “national security risk.”
The Biden executive order forces the divestment of property operated as a crypto mining facility near the base MineOne Partners Ltd., a firm partly backed by Chinese nationals, and its affiliates are also required to remove certain equipment on the site.
