JCHC CEO Discusses Facility’s COVID-19 Preparations

Johnson County Healthcare Center CEO Sean McCallister, during the joint media briefing with the Emergency Operations Center late last week, gave an update on the facility’s ongoing preparations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the facility, beginning this week, will be implementing a new policy to help protect both staff and patients.
McCallister reported that there are still 11 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Johnson County, 10 have recovered, and there has been one death.
The JCHC tested 7 additional people last week, with three coming back negative for corona virus and four still pending.
The number of tests performed by the JCHC is 41.
More tests were done at other facilities, so the number of total tested is higher in the county.
McCallister gave a brief update on the status of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the healthcare center.
McCallister said the healthcare center is extremely grateful for how the community has rallied to help them during the pandemic.
