A full bridge replacement is scheduled to take place this summer for the trail bridge on East Tensleep Lake Trail 068 near Tyrrell Ranger Station in the Bighorn National Forest. For public safety and to allow work to be completed without pause or interruption, an area, including Trail 068 from the trailhead near Tyrrell Ranger Station northeast to the junction with the Nordic ski trail “Island Park” is closed to public access, effective immediately.

According to information from the Forest Service, Tensleep Trail 156, the remaining portion of East Tensleep Lake Trail 068, the Nordic trails, and Highline Trail 067 will remain open. You can visit here for the complete order and map. The contractor has started moving equipment in the area and is constructing a temporary access route to the bridge. The Forest Service is asking people, for their own safety, to not enter the closure area until it has reopened. Project updates will be provided on the US Forest Service –  Bighorn National Forest Facebook page.
