Sheridan County Approves White Ranch Quarry

A permit for a quarry was approved by the Sheridan County Commission at their last meeting.
County Planner Mark Reid explained more about the permit application from <span class=”player fa fa-play” onclick=”playSound(this, ‘/audio/2020/04-14-41.mp3’);”> White Ranch, LLC. </span>
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the permit with seven conditions that need to be met, which are listed below.
The county commission approved the permit with the conditions.
Conditions for approval of Item Q-20-001:
- The permit shall be effective for 10 years , commencing on the date approved by the BOCC.
- That the 15-acre site shall be staked prior to any material excavation.
- No site signage shall be permitted except for directional signs and that required by WDEQ.
- That all quarry activities, except for the haul road, shall be prohibited within 50 feet of the woody draw situated northeast of the quarry.
- The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30am to 5pm, Saturday 7:30am to noon, and no hours of operation on Sunday.
- Should conditions ever warrant, dust prevention and/or suppression on the county roads, pit haul road, stockpiles, and/or work areas may be prescribed by the County Engineer.
- That the applicant shall obtain an approved commercial driveway permit from Sheridan County.
