Aaron PalmerWyoming’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has remained unchanged from April of 2023 to April 2024, according to information released from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.
According to the release, the state’s unemployment rate was 2.8% in April of 2023, and remained the same through April of 2024.
Current employment statistics estimates show total non-farm employment in Wyoming rose from 285,200 in April, 2023 to 290,100 in April of this year, an increase of 1.7% or 4,900 jobs.
Sheridan County had an unemployment rate of 2.5% in April 2024 down from 3.1% in March, and down from 2.8% in April of 2023.
Johnson County had an unemployment rate of 2.8% in April of this year, down from 3.5% in March, and down from 3.0% in April of 2023.
The lowest unemployment rates were reported in Weston County at 2.0%, and Niobrara and Crook Counties at 2.3%.
The highest unemployment rate in Wyoming was in Sublette County at 3.6% followed by Big Horn and Uinta Counties at 3.4%
Unemployment data for May of 2024 will be released on June 26.
