Aaron PalmerThe Buffalo Police Department has issued a release on new procedures they have put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the release, to prevent the spread of illness and to ensure the safety of our first responders, they will be implementing new procedures when taking, and responding to, calls.
When residents call in, they should be prepared to answer questions such as: Do you have a fever? Are you coughing? Do you have respiratory issues? Does anybody in your household have these symptoms? Have you recently traveled outside of Johnson County? Have you knowingly been exposed to the coronavirus?
Those responding “yes” to any of the questions are asked to not come in to the Justice Center, and instead utilize the non-emergency line (307) 684-5581 for non-emergent calls, and 9-1-1 for emergencies only.
The Buffalo PD asks for the public’s patience as they continue to serve the community under constantly changing conditions.
