The Sheridan College Theater is rallying numbers nerds to unite as they present the play 57th National Mathlete Sum-it.

In the production, the (almost) all-girl high school math team from Waukesha, Wisconsin, lost – and then won – the regional math competition. They are off to compete in the National Math SUM-IT. These smart and funny whiz kids must unite to solve difficult math problems without getting distracted by teen drama and pressures.

Sheridan College Director of Theater Dr. Lauren Graffin Estrada said the performance is a witty, uproarious story of girls becoming women – of pushing back against bias as women in STEM, conquering anxiety and rivalry, finding a way to affirm themselves as individuals and as team-members, while learning to win at math and at life.

The performance is PG rated. Graffin Estrada said the play is suited for everyone in the family, especially if you are a lover of math or the parent of a math wiz.

The (almost) All-Girl Musical will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday April 27, and 1 p.m. Sunday April 28, at the WYO Theatre. For tickets, click here.

Cast: Jordan Frey plays Melissa, Paige Maynard plays MK, Meaghan Mahoney plays Barbie, Sage Mueller plays Leroy, Amber Steier plays Amber, Karson Vielhauer plays McGery, Sarah Wolfe and Beau Miller play everyone else.
