EOC Has COVID-19 Information for Johnson County Seniors

Johnson County senior citizens can get information about COVID-19 and resources available to them during the current pandemic through the county Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
According to a release from the EOC, adults aged 65 and older are at a higher risk of hospitalization, admission to intensive care, and death from COVID-19.
The best way seniors can protect themselves is to stay home; wash hands often; avoid close contact by staying 6 feet away from others; avoid babysitting; and call their local healthcare provider with concerns.
The EOC is set up to help coordinate the needs of Johnson County residents and provide incident support for various agencies during the pandemic.
They identify resource needs in the community such as food and household supply needs, and mental health needs, among others.
The EOC can answer questions about current Centers for Disease Control guidelines, public health concerns, and more.
Contact the EOC with any questions.
