Jo Co EOC Answers Questions on COVID-19 Testing, Contact

During their first media briefing Friday, the Johnson County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) said there have been many questions concerning what happens when someone has tested positive for the corona virus.
Public Health Nursing Manager Trisha Thompson explained how public health and the healthcare providers respond.
Due to limited testing capabilities at this point, healthcare providers can now evaluate a patient and determine if they are a probable case due to their symptoms as well as their close contact information.
The State Department of Health currently handles most of these investigations in the state.
Johnson County Public Health may have to take over these investigations in the future, according to Thompson, due to the increase in numbers in the state.
