The Sheridan chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) has begun hosting Creative Connections: Conversations on Metal Wellness in Sheridan.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, NAMI Sheridan member, Rita Geary, said as an organization, NAMI grew from families coming together to support each other and has reached Sheridan as an action response of the Center for a Vital Community.

Formed in Sheridan approximately two years ago, NAMI Sheridan has begun holding a discussion series known as Creating Connections: Conversation on Mental Wellness.

The current plan is to hold the sessions once a year on the Monday nights of the months of March and April. At the conclusion of the first session, NAMI will take stock of attendance and participation to evaluate the need and interest of the Sheridan Community. Should more meetings be needed, the organization will expand the sessions.
The discussions take place at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church located at 1 South Tschirgi St. NAMI offers a free dinner and free child care. NAMI asks to be notified should an attendee need child care.
The first of these discussions took place on March 4, covering the topic of mental health exploration.
