The Sheridan VA Health Care System has announced U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough will visit the Sheridan VA Medical Center on Thursday, Feb. 29.

The Secretary will tour the facilities and meet with VA staff and facility leadership to discuss the expansion of benefits now available to Veterans, their families and survivors through President Biden’s PACT Act.

McDonough will also tour VA facilities in other communities throughout Wyoming and discuss care for veterans living in rural areas.

According to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, prior to his role as Chief of Staff, McDonough was Principal Deputy National Security Advisor from October 2010 to January 2013. He has also served as the Chief of Staff of the National Security Staff and as the Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications. He chaired the National Security Council’s Deputies Committee, leading the multi-agency team to address challenges including crisis management and national security policymaking. Throughout his service in the White House, McDonough helped lead the Obama-Biden administration’s work on behalf of military families and Veterans.
