JC Commission Chair gives a head’s up on bills to follow this legislative session

Johnson County Commission Chair and President of the Wyoming County Commissioners Association Bill Novotny, spoke on the upcoming 2024 Wyoming Legislative Budget Session during an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse.

Novotny said it’s still a little too early to know exactly what bills will be introduced, but there are a few he recommends residents keep an eye on once the session begins on Feb. 12.

A deadline for all bill drafts to be in final form at the Legislative Service Office is scheduled for noon on Feb 14. House Bill 0045 – Property tax exemption-residential structures, in its current form can be found by clicking here

According to Novotny, HB0045 has strong support. The WCCA convenes the first week of the legislative session at which point the organization will set their positions on this and other bills.
