The 2023 Sod Farm Festival will begin at 3 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Green Side Up sod farm on Big Goose Road.
According to co-founder of the Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange, Carla Crayton, so many local performers will be featured in the line-up, the festival plans for over seven hours of live music featuring 20 different performances.
To accomplish this, each musical performance has only a few minutes to exit the stage while the next performers have approximately a minute to get onstage and start playing. The format gives the audience a non-stop musical experience.
Gates will open at 2 p.m. For ticket information click here.
The Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange is one of the beneficiaries of the festival this year. Crayton and her small team provide necessities to children who have had to be removed from dangerous home situations with either very little or no time to pack clothes and hygiene products for basic everyday needs.
According to Crayton, the need for caring homes is always going to be a necessity.
According to the Wyoming Department of Family Services, foster homes are needed for all ages, but especially for teens and sibling groups. Crayton said the need for foster parents is high as some foster parents are leaving the program for a bitter-sweet reason.
