Bar and Grill License Advertisement and Award Criteria Established in Resolution

The Sheridan City Council recently considered a resolution pertaining to bar and grill licenses. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
In March of this year, an alcohol committee formed by the Sheridan City Council began deliberating on developing criteria for advertising and awarding the City’s bar and grill licenses. Legislation passed by the Wyoming Legislature allowed the City to receive an additional four licenses on July 1. With the additional licenses, the City now has six available bar and grill licenses. The City Council, at their most recent business meeting passed a resolution establishing the criteria for the advertisement and award of the available licenses.
Committee Member and City Councilman Greg Luhman addressed the Council prior to the Council adopting the resolution.
Staffing, location and improvement, business plan, entertainment, and timeline to open to the public are the five pieces of criteria developed by the committee for those applying for a bar and grill license. All applications will be reviewed and rated on a one to five scale by each member of the City Council. In the event there is a tie and not enough available licenses to award to both applicants, the City Council will request additional information from the applicants to determine the award.
