Aaron PalmerAt their Tuesday meeting the Buffalo City Council approved a Resolution that will set the city’s mill levy for the 2023-24 Fiscal Year.
Mayor Shane Schrader read Resolution No. 1465.
The eight mills are the most the city can request, as allowed municipal governments by the State of Wyoming to fund the operation of the cities.
Property taxes collected by the county are distributed to the city and town governments through the requested mill levies.
City Clerk Julie Silbernagel explained in an earlier story that the city receives about $450,000 annually from the eight mills, and she budgets accordingly.
The majority of funding the city receives for operations annually is from sales taxes.
