Kinner: Gaming Commission, Land Purchase Big Topics for the Legislators

With over 350 bills brought to the 2020 Budget Session, not to mention the titular budget work, it is safe to say the 65th Wyoming Legislature has worked on a number of topics in their first 12 days of work. Local Representative Mark Kinner shared an example of an important bill his committee is working on.
House Bill 171 was originally brought by the Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife & Cultural Resources Interim Committee and was introduced to the session with a vote of 46-14. The local delegation was split in the vote with Representatives Cyrus Western and Richard Tass voting in favor and Kinner and Mark Jennings casting nays. Representative Kinner did vote for it to pass in committee. Another big topic Kinner mentioned involves the purchase of land by the state.
While the second topic isn’t something the Legislature will necessarily have the option to approve, Representative Kinner said it is of importance to the group.
