The Northern Wyoming Community College District has reached another milestone in their efforts to offer 4 year degrees according to a release. During a meeting of the Wyoming Community College Commission in Cheyenne recently, the group voted to authorize the district to proceed onto the next steps. The next steps include working directly with the Higher Learning Commission, who serve as their accreditor, to begin the substantive change process in order to offer an applied baccalaureate degree in Management and Leadership with two areas of emphasis. Those areas would be Business and Industrial Technology.

According to District President Dr. Walt Tribley, the authorization allows the district to develop curriculum for the program as well as make sure that each area of service is ready and equipped to serve four year students. The next steps in the process include approval of the curriculum by the WCCC as well as a visitor from the accreditor. Early projections estimate that students could enroll for the program as early as the fall of 2021, assuming all goes to plan.
