WYO Theater Executive Director Erin Butler told listeners of Sheridan Meida’s Public Pulse program Sheridan College Theatre Instructor Dr. Lauren Graffin Estrada has chosen the perfect musical to brighten spirits this spring season.
The play, “The Hunting of the Snark”, is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s poem, ‘The Hunting of the Snark.’ Playwright Annabel Wigoder adapted the poem into a family musical that follows a gang of adventurers who set off on a quest on ‘Snark Island’ and encounter mythical creatures along the way.
According to Butler, many other more grandiose musicals could have been chosen but Dr. Graffin Estrada made the right decision to give Sheridan’s children and families a play to remember while meeting the criteria for the student performers.
The Sheridan College Theatre and Dance will present this family friendly performance of “The Hunting of the Snark” at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Saturday, May 7, at the WYO Theater and Education Center on Sophie’s Stage.
