Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Feb. 2, 1920.

Ornamental lighting for Main street is assured through final passage of an ordinance by the city council this morning that provides for installation of 66 ornamental posts on Main street between Burkitt and Dow streets. Concurrently with the ordinance, the city enters into a contract with the Sheridan County Electric Company to operate the lights for 10 years.

More than 970 cases of influenza were reported to Dr. F. A. Hodson, county health officer, during the month of January. There were three deaths resulting from the disease.

Mrs. R. C. Newton, aged 29, died at 5 o’clock this morning of pneumonia following influenza.
