A concurrence award in the amount of $2.3 million through WYDOT for the East 5th Street Corridor Project was awarded to Delta Wye, Inc. by the Sheridan City Council Monday night. City Engineer Hanns Mercer said WYDOT advertised the project on February 10 and plans to have a contractor on board soon. He said the concurrence award needed to be approved by the City in order for WYDOT to complete the award of the project to a contractor.

The project will include safety, visualization, and landscaping enhancements to the East 5th Street corridor, including the installation of trees, sod, a sprinkler system, flower beds, sidewalk replacement, and a new sidewalk between Crook Street and Lincoln Drive. Mercer said new decorative street lighting will be installed between Crook and Joe Streets. Other business from the Council meeting included the approval of third and final reading of ordinances for the Val Vista Rezone and the Cloud Peak Storage Planned Unit Development Rezone. The Council also approved a resolution that outlines the strategic framework created by the City Council and Mayor Rich Bridger at the March 12th strategic planning session.
