JCHC Board Approves Update to Financial Aid Policy

The Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center have approved revisions to their financial aid policy, as recommended by administration.
Laurie Hanson gave a report on the revisions at their recent board meeting, saying the current policy was outdated and needed revisions to get it more in line with other facilities in the region.
She explained the major points that were changed.
Other changes include requiring patients to apply every three months to be eligible for aid.
Also, a “financial committee” will now review the applications for eligibility, and patients will now be notified within 30 days if they are approved.
Hospital CEO Sean McCallister explained the policy will help both the facility and patients.
The board voted to approve the policy changes contingent on review by the facility’s legal counsel.
More details on the financial aid policy revision will be coming in a future story.
