Bunning will take the reins from Barrasso’s former Chief of Staff and Laramie native Dan Kunsman. Barrasso recently named Kunsman Staff Director for the Office of the Senate Republican Whip.
According to information from Senator Barrasso’s Office, Bunning, who grew up in Rock Springs, has served in the U.S. Senate for more than 20 years. His career started in 2001 with an internship for U.S. Senator Craig Thomas. He quickly rose through the ranks serving in a variety of roles including as systems administrator, telecom policy aide, legislative assistant, senior policy advisor and senior professional staff member at the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
