Ron RichterA media release issued by Sheridan County Emergency Management Monday evening states that there are currently no changes to current evacuation orders or notices related to the Elk Fire. Residents in affected areas have been notified directly of any evacuation orders. Officials are closely monitoring the situation, and we will continue to provide updates as they become available. If any evacuation orders change, updates will be posted on the Sheridan County Facebook page and the Sheridan County website. Alerts will also be sent to phones as necessary. Additionally, deputies and emergency personnel will go door to door to provide updates as conditions allow.
If people need shelter for livestock or themselves, please call Sheridan County Emergency Management at 307-752-2174. Tongue River High School in Dayton will be closed today due to fire-related safety concerns. School staff have been in contact with students and parents regarding online class options for the day. No other schools in the area are currently impacted by the fire.

Good thing chief Travis Koltiska is there to save the day in case other departments can’t handle all the extra work! Wow..wow what a man.. he even keeps detectives in check, and makes sure cops don’t get killed in the line of duty! Man does he have a backbone from here to Washington DC… he will never lie to your face… what a Chief! Everything is going to be just fine…
