According to the SPD Captain, during the 14 week course, students are taught and evaluated on curriculum established and certified by Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy and WY Peace Officer Standards and Training. Subjects taught and tested include: Constitutional Law, Search and Seizure, Laws of Arrest, Firearms, Custody & Control, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Building Searches, Traffic Stops, and Investigations.
Another addition to the team, Bella Ewen, began last week as a full time dispatcher. According to Ringley, Ewen grew up in Colorado and brings leadership and management experience after managing several teams in the local hospitality industry. An experience, Koltiska said, that is valued when handling emergency calls.
