Pat BlairSheridan County commissioners have appointed a seven-member parks and recreation board to administer the parks and recreation areas in the county.
Commission Chairman Nick Siddle said appointments to the new board are for staggered terms.
Siddle said commissioners will work with the new board members to develop a handbook. He said the commissioners have been administering the county’s parks and recreation areas, but they felt it would be better to have a community board doing the work.
In other action, commissioners approved a contract with Wenck Associates Inc. Siddle said Wenck is the engineering firm that maintains the gauges that measure the flow in the county’s streams. No dollar amount is specified in the contract for the work.
Commissioners also awarded the contract for design and build projects for three county offices, one in the clerk’s office, one in the treasurer’s office and the third in the assessor’s office. Successful bidder on the project is In Yarak Construction for just over $66,500.
Commissioners also approved the agreement between Sheridan County and the city of Sheridan for air service funding.
