Aaron PalmerSheridan County and the City of Sheridan will split the cost of annexing six “island” properties into the city after the proposal was approved by the county commission during their Tuesday meeting.
County Administrative Director Cameron Duff spoke about the request.
Commission Chair Christi Haswell said the cost-sharing will be a benefit to thecounty.
In an earlier Sheridan Media story, County Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson informed the Sheridan City Council about what she referred to as “county islands,” or areas of unincorporated property that are surrounded by city property, that could lead to split ballots in elections.
The annexations would clean those up.
The cost, roughly $25,000, will be split evenly at 50/50.
