The Volunteers of America will hold their Empty Bowl fundraising celebration from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m Thursday, April 13, at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, VOA Development Director Michelle Keller, told listeners a little about this fundraiser that brings the community together to battle homelessness.
According to the VOA, last year, VOA Homeless Services assisted 523 individuals representing 443 households. In total, more than 15,500 individuals across Wyoming, Montana and Western South Dakota received assistance last year through a broad spectrum of VOA programs.
But the Empty Bowl also allows time for the Sheridan community to come together and celebrate.
The Sheridan Empty Bowl event will feature live music by The Dugan Irby Band, games for kids, hand painted bowls, and soups donated by members of the community.
Bowls for the event have been donated by local Sheridan County schools such as Sheridan College, Big Horn High School, and Sheridan High School. All proceeds will go directly to support Homeless Services impacting Sheridan & Johnson Counties.
This year, VOA is offering $10 savings for family tickets purchased online in advance. Tickets for the event are available online by clicking, here or at the door with costs of $30 for families (two adults and two kids), $15 for adults, and $5 for kids; children five and under are free.
