HAWKS JUNIOR HOCKEY – Sheridan Junior Hawks players start to arrive in Sheridan in a few weeks with training camp opening and with the 2021 season starting in September 10th.
We sat down with third year Hawks Head coach Andy Schieb Tuesday and he says since ending last season in the spring they knew they needed a bunch of players to fill out this year’s roster and that is what has been happening over the last few weeks.
In two seasons the Hawks have lost only 11 games in the regular season and Schieb says it’s been a dream start for the team in Sheridan for the last two seasons.
And with just a few weeks before players report Schieb says the buzz of a new season is starting to build.
The Hawks program is getting ready to host their annual golf tournament at the Powder horn next month, you can find out registration info on the hawks website.
ROCKIES BASEBALL – Shohei Ohtani hit his major league-leading 36th home run, one of the few highlights for the Los Angeles Angels in a 12-3 loss to the Colorado Rockies.

BRONCO FOOTBALL – The Broncos are in no big hurry to name their starting quarterback as camp kicks off today with incumbent Drew Lock getting the first snaps over Teddy Bridgewater. Head coach Vic Fangio says he’d like to make a decision sooner rather than later but is willing to let the competition play out until one of them emerges as the best option.
Broncos team president and CEO Joe Ellis says the team will be in new hands by this time next year. Ellis says the trust that runs the team will either select Pat Bowlen’s 31-year-old daughter Brittany Bowlen or sell the franchise altogether. either way, Ellis says it’s time to move on and get the ownership question settled.
A judge earlier this month dismissed a lawsuit that challenged the trustees’ power to run the franchise and decide its future. Ellis says he hopes the Broncos can snap a five-year playoff drought in 2021.
