Sheridan HS Softball: In their season debut, the Sheridan High School softball team went 1-2 with 1 tie in games played in Cheyenne.

The Lady Broncs lost on Friday vs. Green River 5-3, and against Laramie 11-2.

On Saturday, the team tied Rock Springs 7-7 and won against Cheyenne South 9-3.

This weekend Sheridan starts northeast quadrant play as the team visits 3-time defending state champ Thunder Basin on Friday and then will play their home opener on Saturday against Campbell County.

Sheridan/Buffalo HS Soccer: The Sheridan boys and girls were victorious in shutout fashion to start the season back on Friday.

The Broncs won at home vs. Worland 7-nil, while the Lady Broncs were 1 better, winning 8-nil.

This weekend, both teams start 4A East Conference play vs. Cheyenne South on Friday and Laramie on Saturday.

The boys play on the road and the girls at home.

Friday’s game for the Lady Broncs might be played at Big Horn, because Sheridan will also host a track and field meet.

As for the Buffalo High School soccer teams, they went a combined 0-4 vs. Campbell County and Thunder Basin.

The next scheduled games for the Bison and Lady Bison are this coming Saturday at home vs. Torrington.


Mountain West Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball: The season for a number of Mountain West Conference teams ended this past weekend.

In the NCAA tournament, Colorado State lost on a buzzer beater against Maryland 72-71, while New Mexico lost against Michigan State 71-63.

The only Mountain West Conference team still playing is Boise State in the College Basketball Crown Tournament which starts one week from today in Las Vegas.

On the women’s side, UNLV lost in the 2nd round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament yesterday at home vs. Florida 86-84.

In the women’s NIT on Friday, Air Force lost in their first round game vs. Utah Valley 70-64.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets split weekend road games.

On Friday, the team lost at Portland 128-109, but won yesterday at Houston 116-111.

The Nuggets next play today at home vs. Chicago starting at 7pm.

The team has 10 games remaining in the regular season, and 7 of those 10 are at home, including tonight.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won on Saturday at Montreal 5-4, winning in shootout fashion 2-1.

The Avs next play tomorrow at home vs. Detroit.


Colorado Rockies Pre-Season Baseball: The Colorado Rockies went 3-1 in games played this past weekend.

On Friday, the team won at home vs. the LA Angels 4-3, winning on a walk off wild pitch.

Saturday was a split squad day as Colorado won at the Chicago Cubs 7-3 and at home vs. the Chicago White Sox 10-4.

In the game against the Cubs, Hunter Goodman hit a 2-run home run, Michael Toglia hit 2 solo shots, and Sam Hilliard left the park as well.

Jordan Beck went yard against the White Sox.

Yesterday, the Rocks lost at Milwaukee 6-zip.

Colorado will play their pre-season home finale today vs. Milwaukee, starting at 1:10pm.

Some teams will start the regular season this coming Thursday, while the Rockies will start on Friday with a 3-game series at Tampa Bay.
