University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys lost their 3rd straight game last night at South Dakota, 82-81.

The Pokes trailed by as much as 8 points a couple of times in the second half, and managed to battle back, but could not take the lead.

The stat that made the difference was points in the paint as South Dakota won that battle 42-30.

For UW, Obi Agbim led the team in scoring with 17 points, while Kobe Newton put in 10.

The Brown and Gold got some bench production as A.J. Willis scored 16 and Dontaie Allen added 10.

Wyoming next plays this coming Saturday at BYU.

As for the Cowgirls, their next game is this coming Sunday at South Dakota.


University of Wyoming Football: The Mountain West Conference has announced which teams will play which in conference play next year.

Dates and order of those games are to be announced.

Wyoming will have home games vs. Colorado State, Nevada, San Jose State and UNLV.

Road games will be against Air Force, Fresno State, Hawaii and San Diego State.

The Pokes will not play Boise State, Utah State or New Mexico.

The non-conference schedule for UW is set for next year.

The season starts on August 30th at Akron.

The home opener is on September 6th vs. Northern Iowa.

Utah will visit Laramie on September 13th, and then on September 20th, UW will travel to Boulder to take on the Colorado Buffalos.


Mountain West Conference News: The conference has announced that UC-Davis will join, starting in fall of 2026 in most sports, but not in football.

The Aggies have elected to stay in the Football Championship Subdivision and continue to play in the Big Sky Conference for that sport.

Several media outlets are reporting that Northern Illinois is considering joining the conference in football only.

The Huskies have played in the Mid American Conference since 1997.

The Mountain West Conference had also been considering inviting Toledo to join for football only, but lately there’s been no update on that topic.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won last night at Pittsburgh 6-2, to go 4-1 on their 5-game East Conference road trip.

The Avs return home tomorrow to take on Utah.
