Sheridan HS Football Team Wins 4A State Championship: The Wyoming High School Fall Sports Season officially ended this past weekend with 5 football state championship games in Laramie, and 2 of those 5 championship trophies for this year have a home in Sheridan County.
In the 4A State Championship Game, Ty Gilbertson and Breck Reed hooked up for 80 yard touchdown plays on back-to-back drives to help Sheridan 4-peat as 4A State Champs, by defeating Cheyenne East 21-0, and improve their state record winning streak to 43 games.

The Bronc defense would deliver its 6th shutout of the season.
Sheridan’s 43-game win streak is currently the 4th longest active winning streak in the county and the longest west of Ohio.
Big Horn HS Football Team Wins 2A State Championship: In the 2A State Championship Game, Big Horn Senior Quarterback Avon Barney was 19 of 29 passing for 316 yards and 4 TD’s, plus he ran one in himself, as the Rams beat Cokeville 42-12 to cap off an undefeated season and win their 2nd State Championship in 3 years.
Barney says BH had the opposition figured out, but does not mean it was easy until they started to wear the Panthers down.

Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks won both games this past weekend at home vs. Cody.
Friday’s score was 8-1 as Josh Serino scored a hat trick.
Elijah Farris and Zach Longnecker had 2 goals each.
Saturday’s score was 5-1.
Five different players scored in that game.
This weekend the Hawks play a home and home series vs. Gillette.
Friday’s game is at home starting at 7:30pm.
Saturday’s game is on the road starting at 7:05pm.
Sheridan Hawks Amateur Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks tied one and won one at home vs. Cheyenne this past weekend
On Saturday, the team got a power play goal with 37 seconds to go, to salvage a 4-4 tie.
On Sunday, Sheridan scored often on their way to a 9-4 win.
Eli Lowe scored 4 times in that game.
The Hawks are 5-0-1 on the season and have a first place battle at home this coming Saturday and Sunday vs. Cody.
As for the Lady Hawks, the team will start their season this coming Saturday and Sunday at Laramie.
University of Wyoming Cowboy Football: The Wyoming Cowboys are no longer in possession of the Bronze Boot.
The Pokes were only able to muster 237 yards of total offense, and were 3 of 14 on 3rd down conversions, as the team lost at Colorado State Friday night 24-10.
Quarterback Kaden Anderson was 13 of 30 passing for 120 yards.
He would run in the lone UW touchdown himself.
The Brown and Gold are now 2-8 on the season, and will play their home finale this coming Saturday vs. Boise State.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys got back on track Saturday night with an 86-69 win at home vs. Utah Tech.
The Brown and Gold shot 50% for the game and had 3 players score in double figures.
Kobe Newton led the team with 19 points, while Obi Agbim contributed a dozen.
Jordan Nesbitt had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
UW is now 3-1 on the season and next play this coming Friday at home vs. Southeastern Louisiana University.
Tip off is scheduled for 6:30pm.
As for the Cowgirls, they lost yesterday afternoon at Gonzaga 62-51.
Emily Mellema led all scorers with 27 points, while Malene Pedersen scored 12, and Allyson Fertig came up with 10 rebounds.
The ladies only shot 34% for the game, compared to 47% for the opposition, and were outscored in the paint 30-18.
The Cowgirls are now 1-3 on the season and next play this coming Friday at home vs. Colorado Christian.
Tip off is scheduled for 11am.
Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos arguably had their best game of the season so far, as the team won yesterday at home vs. Atlanta 38-6.
Quarterback Bo Nix was 28 of 33 passing for 307 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Those TD tosses were to Nate Adkins, Marvin Mims Junior, Troy Franklin and Lil’Jordan Humphrey.
Javonta Williams ran 1 touchdown in.
The defense came up with 4 sacks and 1 interception.
The Broncos are now 6-5 on the season with 6 games to go, and as it stands right now, the team would be in the playoffs with the final wild card spot.
Denver’s next game is this coming Sunday at Las Vegas.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:05pm.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets lost a pair of games this past weekend.
On Friday the team lost at New Orleans 101-94 and lost yesterday at Memphis 105-90.
The Nuggets are scheduled to play again at Memphis tomorrow.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche lost on Friday at home vs. Washington 5-2.
The Avs start a 4-game East Coast road trip today at Philadelphia, starting at 5pm.
