Sheridan Troopers Baseball: It’s time to play ball in Sheridan.

The Troopers start the 2024 Wyoming American Legion Baseball season today with a home double-header vs. Powell beginning at 5pm.

The games were originally supposed to be played tomorrow, but because of the approaching weather system, the games were moved up 1 day.

Shortstop Cael Hamrick says this early in the season, games don’t matter much as far as the standings go, so it’s a good time to give the new players some playing time.

You can see a LIVE video stream of today’s games at sheridanmedia.com, and you can hear the LIVE audio feed on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

Sheridan HS Soccer: The Sheridan Lady Broncs were on fire early in the 2nd half last night, as they defeated Cheyenne Central 4-nil.

Emma Prior scored with about 10 minutes to go before the break, to put her team up 1-nothing.

Then about 5 minutes into the 2nd half, Sheridan erupted with 3 goals in a span of 1 minute and 34 seconds.

Avery McMullen scored twice in 56 seconds, and then Sydney Warnke added one about 38 seconds after those 2.

The Lady Broncs are back in action today at home vs. Cheyenne East, starting at 6pm.

The boys play today at Cheyenne East beginning at 6pm and tomorrow at Cheyenne Central beginning at 8am.

Sheridan HS Wrestlers At National Championship Tournament: Eight Sheridan Broncs and 1 Lady Bronc are in Virginia Beach, Virginia today, tomorrow and Sunday, for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Folkstyle Wrestling National Championship Tournament.

It’ll be freshmen vs. freshmen, sophomores vs. sophomores, and so forth, as competitors try to finish in the top 8 of the weight class and grade level, which is what’s needed to earn All-American Status.

Bronc wrestling coach Tyson Shatto says this tournament is a way for Wyoming High School wrestlers to show themselves off to colleges and universities that normally don’t look in Wyoming’s direction in terms of recruiting.

Senior Dane Steel who is a 3-time Wyoming High School State Champ and went undefeated this year, is attempting to become a 3-time All-American.

Sheridan Lady Mavericks Lacrosse: The Sheridan Lady Mavericks will start their second season of existence this weekend in the Montana High School Lacrosse Association.

When it comes to the level that the team competes in, there’s not a lot of opponents available, so more than half of their schedule will be against the JV squads of higher level and more experienced teams.

Head Coach BriAnna Scholl says last year was only the first year, but the word is starting to get out that there’s a girls team in Sheridan, and things are looking a little bit better this year early on.

The Lady Mavericks are scheduled to play 2 games tomorrow and 1 on Sunday in Helena.

Their 2 home games this season are scheduled to be played on Saturday, May 11th.

Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets lost last night at the LA Clippers, 102-100.

The Nuggets next play tomorrow at home vs. Atlanta.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won last night at Minnesota 5-2.

The Avs next play tonight at Edmonton, and on Sunday at home vs. Dallas.
