Tongue River Girls Basketball Team Win 2024 2A State Championship

After a 10-year wait, Dayton, Wyoming is once again girls basketball title town.

Sophomore Chaney Reish had a double-double (12 points, 16 rebounds), senior Jazlyn Ryan contributed with 12 points of her own, and freshman Afton Cummins contributed 10 points of her own, as Tongue River held off Lingle-Fort Laramie 46-43, to win their first 2A Girls State Championship in 10 years.

The Lady Eagles were 18 of 46 shooting from the field for 39.1%, while the opposition was 16 of 52 for 30.8%.

Trailing at halftime 23-19, TR would get things going in the 3rd quarter, and had a 45-37 lead late in the game, before the Lady Doggers put together a comeback.

Tongue River finishes the 2023-2024 season with a record of 24-3.
