Week 3 of the high school football season starts with a Thursday night game, as the Tongue River Eagles host Upton-Sundance.
In last week’s 59-7 road thrashing of Glenrock, the Eagles defense held the Herders to 81 yards of total offense, including negative 24 on the ground.
They also intercepted 3 passes and recovered 1 fumble.
Offensively TR had a well balanced attack with 214 yards rushing and another 246 through the air.
Coach Steve Hanson says while the team had fun last week, they may have had too much fun and he doesn’t want the Eagles to mentally behave the same way tonight, as they did last week.
“We were definitely the more talented team on the field, but we also allowed our talent to kind of go to our head at times and we didn’t play as well in spots as we should have. We could have been a little more fundamentally sound in spots and so we still got things to work on.”
Kickoff for the Thursday night game in Dayton is scheduled for 6 o’clock.
