Jets win District Tourney Opener / Cavalry Open State “B” Tournament Tonight in Rock Springs / Troopers Open the “AA” Tournament in Jackson Monday

SHERIDAN AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL – The Sheridan Jets won their district tournament opener in Douglas Wednesday beating up Gillette 12-3 they will play Douglas tonight.

The Jets know they are already bound for the state tournament as they get an automatic bid for being the host team the “A” tournament will start Monday on “Rotellini field” at Thorne-Rider stadium.

The Sheridan “B” team the Cavalry will open their state tournament tonight in Rock Springs, they play the host team at 7:00.

The Sheridan Troopers will be the number one seed at next weeks state “AA” state tournament they will open up against Rock Springs.

Head coach Austin Cowen says they aren’t concerned who they open with as they know they have to beat a lot of good teams to get to the goal of winning a title.

About a month into the regular season the Troops were struggling with consistent play, they held a team meeting their season took off from that point.

ROCKIES BASEBALL – The Colorado Rockies dropped their game with Houston Astros 4-1 yesterday. They are off today and will open a weekend series at Miami tomorrow that will start a six game road trip that will conclude in Washington against the Nationals.
