Funeral services for Linda Christensen, 78 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Sunday at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo will be held Friday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor William Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to immediately follow the funeral. Donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the Summit Wesleyan Church Building Fund or Meals on Wheels in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Linda Rae Christensen was born on May 10, 1943 in Buffalo, Wyoming to George and Catherine Butler Gibbs. She grew up and went to school in Buffalo and graduated from Johnson County High School with the class of 1961. After high school she attended Chadron State College where she received a B.S. in Education in 1966. After graduating from Chadron she taught school in Ogallala, Nebraska and Gillette, Wyoming. Linda was married on October 28, 1972 in Sussex, Wyoming to Gordon Christensen and they made their home in Gillette where she was a teacher and homemaker. Gordon and Linda retired in 1995 and in 1996 they moved to Buffalo. Gordon passed away in March of 2021 and Linda continued living in Buffalo where she was a resident of Amie Holt Care Center for the past three years.
Linda was a devoted Christian and enjoyed Bible Studies and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by one sister Georgia Hall of Yuma, Arizona; three step-sons, Dean Christensen and Andrew Christensen both of Orlando, Florida, and Rex Christensen of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one step-daughter, Peggy Smith and her husband Gerald of Tyler, Texas; four step-grandsons and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Helen Gibbs and two sisters Celia Streeter and Joyce Tryon.
