Doris Marie Robinette, 94, passed away quietly in her sleep on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan, WY.
Doris was born in Sheridan, WY, to parents William and Annie (Stroud) Mitchell at the Reynold’s Home in Sheridan. First of Will and Annie’s children born in a hospital.
She grew up in Clearmont, WY, being the second to the youngest of seven children.
She graduated from high school and worked in a few different jobs in Clearmont and Midwest. She went to Denver for Secretarial School and that is where she met Henry “Hank” Robinette. They married on March 5, 1954, and made their home in Casper, WY, where their three children were born.
Doris and Hank later moved to Denver, Colorado, and then onto Dallas, Texas. Doris worked as a secretary for the police department in Richardson, Texas. After her retirement from this job in 1992, Doris moved to Sheridan, WY, to be closer to her sisters. Doris enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and watching sports, such as football and basketball, and staying in touch with family around the country. After retiring, she enjoyed extensive traveling all over the world.
Doris is survived by her children Richard (Rick) Robinette and Rebecca Eshelman, three granddaughters, Laura, Emily, and Amanda, sister Dixie Campbell and brother Roy Mitchell, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Tim, husband, Hank, parents Will and Annie Mitchell, siblings Cloe Garretson, Ruth Harnish, Cecil Mitchell and Robert C. Mitchell.
