Milo Rinker

Graveside services for Milo Rinker, 92-year-old Sheridan resident who passed away quietly Wednesday morning at his home in Sheridan, will be held Saturday, April 18th at 2:00 p.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo with Pastor Chuck Gifford officiating. Donations in Milo’s memory may be made to the Dana Wood Memorial Fund at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Milo Glen Rinker was born on September 4, 1927, in Sheridan, Wyoming to James and Crystal “Spracklen” Rinker. He grew up and went to school in Sheridan and attended Sheridan High School. He was married on October 1, 1943, in Hardin, Montana to Eleanor Wood and they made their home in Sheridan. Milo worked at the Jersey Creamery for seventeen years and in 1963 they moved to Southern California where he worked for Challenge Cream and Butter Association as a salesman. In 1968 he was a salesman for the Coors Beer Company in San Bernardino, California for 23 years.    In 1991 in went to work for International Paving Solutions where he was a salesman/estimator and later for Jet Propulsion Paving Solutions until he retired in 2007.  In September of 2007, they moved back to Sheridan where he lived until his death.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Sheridan, Sheridan Elks Lodge #520 and the Teamsters Union #166. Milo enjoyed going to gambling casinos and horse track bettor. He was an excellent ice skater but his passion was spending time with his family.  He was a wonderful grandpa and will be terribly missed. He is survived by his wife of 76 years Eleanor Rinker of Sheridan; two daughters, Judith Taylor and her husband George of Dayton, Wyoming and Gloria Rinker of Sheridan; one brother Ross  Rinker of Hasty, Colorado seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bob, Charlie, and David Rinker, and one son Milo Eugene Rinker.

    Milo was a great guy and he and Eleanor were a great couple–76 years–what an inspiration! I always felt welcome and comfortable in their home even as a crazy teenager.

    Milo was a great guy and he and Eleanor were a great couple. 76 years together–what an inspiration! I always felt welcome and comfortable in their home, even as a crazy teenager.
