Kayla Shantaye Trujillo, 24, of Sheridan, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Kayla was born June 5, 1999, to Shauna and Frank Trujillo in Sheridan, WY. In Kayla’s short 24 years, she touched the hearts of everyone who knew her, worked with her and even acquaintances spoke highly of her happy loving personality. In 2000 Kayla became a big sister to Dustin whom she loved to play with and torture every day as older siblings do. While growing up Kayla attended schools in Sheridan and Glenrock where she had great adventures. Kayla started young as a cheerleader, then moved on to band as well as being part of the Wyoming All-State Marching Band, she had the best adventures marching at the Hawaii Kai for Thanksgiving of 2014 in Hawaii and the Tournament of Roses parade at Pasadena, CA in 2016.

Kayla graduated high school at Sheridan High in 2017. In 2019 she was hired by the State of Wyoming as an Officer at The Port of Entry which she was proud of every day she had a goal to work her way up just as her Grammy did when she worked there.

During Kayla’s life, she had three great blessings that she lived for which were her children that she and Craig O’Brien had together. Jaceigh, Mason, and Tyrell her children brought so much joy to her life. She loved her children and all their adventures together from snuggling, and movies, to camping and hunting. Kayla’s love for her whole family was extraordinary. There were never any questions from those she loved about how she felt as Kayla had a great way of getting her point across to everyone. Then Kayla was blessed with true love, something that she had longed for her whole life and she found that with her life partner, Shaun Kobielusz.

Kayla is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Hank While, and her paternal grandparents Kate & Junior Trujillo.

Kayla is survived by her children, Jaceigh, Mason, and Tyrell all of Sheridan, her parents Frank & Shauna Trujillo of Rawlins, her brother Dustin Trujillo of Rawlins, her life partner Shaun Kobielusz of Sheridan, her grandmother Mary While of Rawlins, her Aunt Tavy Trujillo (Wyatt Stanley) of Story, her Uncle Tony Trujillo (Cindy) of Colorado and her immediate cousins Karlee Bruney, Wyatt Larson, Jessica Bernabe, Holly Trujillo, & Stephanie Trujillo.
