Clara Jean Jewell departed this world on April 15, 2023, and Ronald Andrew Hanson departed a few hours later on April 16, 2023. Clara was born on October 2, 1939, in Sheridan County, Wyoming to George and Betty Jewell and grew up at a small ranch on Powder River where she attended a one-room schoolhouse. Ron was born on September 30, 1938, in Buffalo, Wyoming to Andy and Ruth Hanson and grew up at the Hanson Sawmill on Sourdough Creek and spent winters in Buffalo. Ron and Clara were married on June 21, 1957, and shortly after they married temporarily moved to Abilene, Texas where Ron was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base and Clara worked at the Timex watch factory. Ron was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1960 and they returned to Buffalo where Ron worked for several years at the Hanson Sawmill on Sourdough Creek in the Big Horn Mountains until his passion for trucking led to purchasing a log truck. Ron and Clara and their three small children lived at Caribou Camp in the Big Horn Mountains until 1968 when the family moved east of Buffalo. Ron continued trucking, hauling mostly gravel with his black belly dump while Clara ran the home and drove the school bus along the Crazy Woman Rd. and Powder River Rd. route as well as drove the activities bus. For several years, they worked together on road jobs in Wyoming and surrounding states where you would find Clara driving the red and white cab-over Pete and Ron in his maroon and gold conventional Pete. Ron and Clara began trucking over the road in 1993 until 2003 logging several million miles. Their grandchildren enjoyed memorable experiences throughout the country while riding in Grandma and Grandpa’s truck. Ron and Clara retired from trucking in 2003 and Ron became a favored activities bus driver for the school. His favorite students were those that brought him breakfast burritos, cookies, and muffins. Clara drove the special needs bus for the school district and was loved by her students. Ron and Clara were loving parents and doting grandparents.

Ron and Clara are survived by their children, Tonia Hanson and Dan (Renae) Hanson, and daughter-in-law Kathy Hanson (Tim, deceased); six grandchildren, Taylor Hanson and Doyle Hanson, Balaun (Joe) Attar and Tyffani (Colemun) Harbaugh, and Kylee Hanson and Kade (Lisa) Hanson; and two great-grandchildren, Hallie Harbaugh, and Kayson Hanson. They were preceded in death by their son, Tim Hanson, and their parents.
