Troopers Host Spearfish Tonight / Rockies Sweep the Bucs

TROOPER BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers get back on the field tonight they host a double header with Spearfish, South Dakota the first game is set to begin at 5:00.

The Troopers have won 11 of their last 13 games and Head coach Ben Phillips says the players have been on a great roll the last couple of weeks.

They went 4-1 at a tough tournament in Billings last week and he says they really stepped up their game.

They played Spearfish last week and bombed them in both games but they think it will be a lot different tonight.

ROCKIES BASEBALL – Jon Gray tossed six strong innings in another solid outing for Colorado starters, and the Rockies beat the Pittsburgh pirates 6-2. Garrett Hampson had four hits for the Rox, who swept the three-game series and improved to 28-16 at home.

Colorado is just 6-31 on the road, Adam Frazier led off the game with a triple, scored on a sacrifice fly and Bryan Reynolds homered for the 14th time this year for a quick 2-0 lead.

The Rockies open a home series with St. Louis tonight first pitch is at 6;40 you can hear Rockies baseball on Smart Talk 106.3 FM.
