The Buffalo City Council, during their regular meeting Tuesday evening, passed Resolution No. 1437 which sets the amount of Optional 1% Tax funds they will allocate this year.

Organizations not directly managed by the City of Buffalo or a joint powers board the city is considered to be a member of will be awarded up to $250,000 later this spring.

Councilman Travis Lawrence said the allocation is under the 25% threshold of anticipated revenue from one-percent funds.

The council voted to allocate up to $250,000 with Councilman Dan Hart voting against, saying he feels less money should be designated for the one-percent committee to distribute.

Funds allocated to the organizations will be used for expenses in the Fiscal Year ending June 30th, 2021.

The remainder of funds will be used by the city for the annual budget.
