Redistricting bill passes the House

House Bill 0100 has passed the House of Representatives and will now proceed to the Senate. 

HB 0100 passed the House with a vote of 54-6 with the amendment made by House District 40 Rep. Barry Crago, R – Buffalo, and backed by House District 51, represented by Rep. Cyrus Western, R – Big Horn and Representative Mark Kinner, R – Sheridan, intact. 

The amendment to HB 0100 placed the communities of Story, Arvada and Clearmont within House District 40 as well as retaining the southern section of Johnson County, including the town of Kaycee. The debate surrounded the deviation that was required to remain under 10%. 

Crago defended the amendment on the House Floor late Friday afternoon.

The bill will now move to the Senate. 

According to the Wyoming Legislative Office, although State offices will be closed on Monday in recognition of Presidents Day, the Wyoming Legislature is scheduled to convene. All committee meetings and floor sessions will be held as normal, and the LSO will be open regular business hours.
