Aaron PalmerState Senator Dave Kinskey discussed his concerns over redistricting, which could become a contentious issue the Wyoming Legislature needs to tackle during the upcoming session.
Kinskey feels the smaller, rural portions of districts need representation just as much as their urban counterparts, and the way some districts are proposed to be redrawn may not take that into consideration.
Kinskey reiterated that redistricting could become a major issue, but it needs to be done by the legislature or the courts will step in to do it for them.

I have to wonder: if he wasn’t forced into a primary contest, would he be so critical or would he be praising the whole process?

Well, rather than him, think about whether YOU want to lose representation of rural parts of WY (or any state for that matter). Then the influence of cities, with their inward migration of people who have limited/no knowledge of rural life, concerns, or priorities (even though that is where their food comes from) make all decisions. You vote is mute. Some examples: CA, OR, WA, NV, NM, IL, IN, OH, MN, WI, MD, VA, NY and the list grows annually.

Dave votes for what the chamber of commerce wants. The people of Wyoming? Not so much.

Rather eastern Sheridan County is represented by a guy in Buffalo, Gillette or Sheridan they don’t live in the ClearMont area. They live in one of these “big cities.” I struggle with the concern here, worried Gillette is some liberal metropolitan area. This is the Republican parties new alarm to hit, worried that the urban centers of this state are going to get more representation than the lowly populated rural areas. That only makes sense though, more people more voting power. Even so the concern is unwarranted. Laramie and Natrona counties are by far the two most populous counties in the state. How many democratic representatives and senators do they have ? There is no problem here just fear mongering so they don’t have to focus on real issues.
